Las Vegas Recreation and Classes

The City of Las Vegas Fall Leisure Guide is now available. Registration for Fall I session started on August 18 and continues through September 7th. You can register online, by phone, or in person.

There are quite a few offerings this Fall. There are classes for all age levels and all schedules. Here are a few highlights I found while browsing the offerings:

For kids there are tons of gymnastic, cheer, Tae Kwon Do, arts and crafts, music, and sports classes. They even offer Spanish classes and tutoring.

Parents, do you need a night out? Some of the community centers have special nights were you can drop the kids off for a few hours. During this time the kids will play games and eat pizza. Not bad.

Adults can also participate in cooking, scrapbooking, dancing, and exercise classes and workshops.

The City of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services has unveiled an online search service which allows you to search for a park by feature. This new service will also allow you to search for the Las Vegas park nearest your location.

A quick search for a park with walking/jogging trails and a water play area found eight parks in Las Vegas that matched my search. You can also search for parks with dog runs, basketball courts, horseshoe courts, ponds, exercise stations, and more.

There are plans to expand the Las Vegas recreation search feature to include golf courses, senior centers, and recreational facilities.
